Catalysis, the full spectrum of research

Sara Blomberg, PhD., Assistant Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, LTH. Lund
My research focuses on the detailed understanding of catalytic processes. The goal is to collect information on the atomistic level about catalyst model systems while they are at work, so-called operando measurements. As the first group in the world, we performed combined synchrotron-based techniques with laser diagnostics to simultaneously probe the catalyst and the gas phase close to the catalyst surface. By performing combined experiments and the use of simplified catalyst model systems, we were able to link the active phase of the catalyst with the gas phase species produced. During the last two years, I have been working in close collaboration with industry, such as SunCarbon, Preem and Smurfit Kappa. My project is about producing biofuel out of lignin, which is a by-product of the pulp and paper industry, and my research focuses on the catalyst that is used in the production.

Intro to Sigma Connectivity

Ola Möllerström, CMO & Deputy CEO at Sigma Connectivity AB, Lund

As part of the Sigma family, Sigma Connectivity has a wide field of expertise in technology consultancy. This presentation will give an overview of Sigma Connectivity capabilities in the field of optics and neighbouring areas.

After the presentations we invite you to join us in a virtual Zoom-Optopub-mingle! Please prepare a cold beer or drink and meet the speakers and the Optopub participants.

Please, register here:
