Work is now underway in the Swedish Photonics Excellence Cluster initiative. The team has begun mapping national strengths and key actors across three strategic areas:
- biotech and life science
- space, security and defence
- quantum technologies
The aim is to identify the most relevant clusters and competence centres to engage in dialogue as we build Sweden’s joint Vision 2035 for photonics.
Early findings already highlight the breadth of Sweden’s photonics expertise — but also raise an important question: how can Swedish Photonics, through coordinated effort, strengthen the ecosystems in biotech, quantum, and space/security?
In the next phase, we will deepen the analysis and begin direct dialogue with leading clusters in each area.
